Second Life or SL is a virtual world that allows users or Avatar representatives to roam around and even fly from one place to another or from one island and one theme to another. Possibility of being teletransported is also possible.

An example of how this tool can be used to assist in Literacy education;

Learners can be asked to create an Avatar to their likings and visit a particular set island where they can interact with each other and use literacy resources virtually available at the predetermined SL site.
